Cuesta Men's Basketball turns the corner in Torrance.  Cuesta's Cagers opened the season with a six-game losing streak, but first-year Coach Jamoni Barber has guided the Cougars to three wins over the past five games.  Cuesta opened last week's El Camino Tournament with a two-point loss against Los Angeles Valley, 57-55, before closing the tournament with a pair of wins.  The Cougars beat host El Camino, 71-68, on Friday and closed out the tournament with a win over conference rival Oxnard, 81-72.  Point Guard Aiden Pearsall-Morgan led the way for the Cougars, while averaging 19 points per game.  His backcourt-mate James Nugent also piled up 15 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.  The Cougars, as they embark on their first winning streak, are currently 3-8 on the season.  

 

Men's basketball returns to the road this weekend with the Kris Kringle Tournament at the Santa Rosa Tournament.  Cuesta shall open the tournament against the College of the Redwoods on Friday (6 PM), and their second game shall be determined by the later game (8 PM) between the host Bear Cubs and the Foothill Owls.
