Freshman Harrier Rebekah Waterbury led the Cuesta Women's Cross Country team to 17th place at the 2025 3C2A State Championships.  Waterbury's finish marked the second time this season that she has led the Cougars, who have had three runners share the team lead over their nine-race campaign.  The Cougars' Top 20 finished equaled the program's top mark since 2025 WSC Coach of the Year Robert Neely took over the program.   Waterbury, who was selected to the 2025 All-Western State Conference First Team, finished a dozen places higher than she did at the 3C2A Regional Meet, while dipping under 20-minutes (19:48.4) for the first time this season.  She also missed all-State recognition by just six spots.   

Cuesta Women's Cross Country finished the season in 4th out of 13 full teams in the Western State Conference, 11th in the Regionals and 17th at the State Championships
