Cuesta's newest sport, Women's Wrestling, is finding its place during its inaugural season. The Cougars five-woman team improved to 3-3 in their dual schedule, after hitting the road to beat SouthEast Conference rival Moorpark, 26-25, on Wednesday. The Cougars continued their week at the Bakersfield Open on Saturday. The Grapplers took 3rd in the 10-team field, while all five Cougars landed among the Top 5 places in their respective divisions, including Silvers for All American Ayten Elbarbary (124, Pict-L) and Ashleigh Terry (160, Pict-R), along with a Bronze from Ana Garcia-Delgado (207). The Cougars' five-woman team has finished among the Top 5 in each of their past three tournaments and the quintet boasts a combined 61-25 record on the season.
The Cougars travel to Walnut this weekend to compete in the Mt SAC Invitational, before returning home for their first action in front of a home crowd on April 1. On April Fools' Day, the Cougars shall host a pair of SouthEast Conference Duals against Bakersfield (6 PM) and Lemoore (7 PM)
