Women's Wrestling was well rested, since taking a full month to train, after the team premiered on February 7.  Last week, Cuesta's grapplers embarked on the program's second event ever, when they competed in the State Dual Tournament at Cerritos.  The Cougars were edged, 21-19, in the first ever dual match against Sierra, but closed with a pair of wins over Bakersfield, 19-15, and Modesto, 23-15, to finish 5th at the 16-team event.  The Cougars' quintet finished the weekend with a 10-2 match individual record, including perfect 3-0 records from Aubree Kooren (131), Ashleigh Terry (160) and Ana Garcia-Delgado (205/235).

 

The Cougars continue their program's initial campaign this Wednesday with a SouthEast Conference Double-Dual at East Los Angeles.  The Cougars open against Victor Valley (6 PM) and face the host Huskies in the finale (7 PM).
