2025 Cuesta Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Year Kristy Huynh is back and ready for another long post-season run. Huynh, who competed as a Heptathlete this season, owns top three marks in eight events on the Cougars' leader board and has posted three Cuesta All-Time Top 10 marks this season.
Last week, at the 2026 Western State Conference Championships, Huynh helped lead the Cougars to a Runner-up finish as a team, while posting scoring marks in six events and earning all-Conference honors in five events. She won her lone title in the Javelin, with a season-best toss of 127-5, but also scored in the Shot Put, with a toss of 36-4.25, while taking 4th place. She missed the Cougars' All-Time Top 10 for the High Jump, by an inch, but still took the WSC's Silver in the competition with a team season-best leap of 5-1. In the horizontal jumps, she earned a Silver in the Long Jump and cleared 35-8.25 in the Triple Jump, which was good for 6th place in the meet, as well as 7th all-time for Cuesta College. She completed her weekend as a member of the Cougars 4x100 relay, which cleared the course in :50.76 for 6th place. Huynh competed in five events on the day but began her post-season drive on April 1st at the Regional Multi-event Championships. She posted 3,676 points in the meet and her scored earn a Runner-up finish among the competitors from the Western State Conference.
Next up for Huynh and the Cougars are the Southern California Regional Preliminaries and Finals.
