Divers Provide Early Points for This Week's WSC Championships
Cuesta Swimming and Diving travels to Van Nuys this Thursday for the three-day Western State Conference Championships.

The men enter this weekend's meet already chasing rival Ventura, after last week's 3C2A Regional Diving Meet, but Cuesta's Haiden Coulter and Cohen Swanson scored enough off the 1-meter and 3-meter planks, respectively, to earn all-WSC Honors and keep Cougars in the hunt.  The women also earned points from Raylee Anderson, who earned all-WSC accolades, and Allie Anderson at the meet.

The men are chasing their sixth straight WSC Crown and their 21st conference title since 1980. Coach Greg Enloe's Aqua-jocks have also reached the cracked the Top 10 at the 3C2A State Championships the past two seasons, boasting 6th place last year behind 2025 State Swimmer of the year Grant Huston.  Huston is back in the lanes for the Cougars this season and has continued his assault on the Cougars' record book, including six new marks last month.  The men shall also rely on fellow All-American Brady Lind and newcomers Zach Pechan and Jett Hardy, who have also made their wat onto the Cougars' All-Time Top 10 this season.  The men have won five of their seven events this season, while also earning a Team Silver at the Mt SAC Invitational and a Bronze at the NorCal Invitational.

The women's team has not won a conference championship since 2021, but their 22 titles since 1979 keeps them ahead of the men in the trophy chase.  The Cougars are led by returning All American Annika Pauschek, who joins fellow returners Kailey Ardouin and Ryder Gangemi Each member of the veteran trio has all cracked the Cougars' all-Time Top 10 in at least one event this season.
