Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our male selection for September is Sophomore Grappler Chance Evans.  

Returning All American Chance Evans re-established himself at the season-opening Sacramento Tournament  Evans, who was the 2024 3C2A State Runner-up at 197, opened his sophomore campaign by sweeping the competition 4-0 to win his division. Coach Joe Dansby said, of his performance in one of the tougher divisions, "He ran through the competition.  He was dominant."  The Cougars ended up 4th overall in the 11-team event.  Chance win boosted his career Cuesta mark to 33-7, which lands him just 10 wins off the Cougars Top 10 Career Win List. His 82.5 career winning percentage helps demonstrate his dominance and currently ranks 4th all-time of the Cougars.
