Cuesta Women's Basketball is set to host its Hinson's Tire Pros Classic this Friday and Saturday.  The Cougars will be joined by local rival Allan Hancock as the two teams face Skyline and San Jose Mission.  The Cougars hit the floor on Friday (6 PM) to face Skyline, after Allan Hancock plays SJ Mission (4 PM) in the tournament opener.  On Saturday, Cuesta and Allan Hancock shall swap opponents.  The Bulldogs lock up with Skyline (1 PM) and Cuesta closes the event against Mission at 3 PM.  Prior to the tournament.  Cuesta shall also play a non-conference at Monterey Peninsula on Tuesday (6 PM).

 

The Cougars evened their overall record at 3-3 on the season, after ending last week with a win at Gavilan College in Gilroy.  The Cougars jumped out early against the Rams and took a 37-15 lead into halftime.  The host Rams' offense was more potent after the intermission, but the Cougars' defense did a great job of slowing their big scorers and only three players from Gilroy were able to score more than two points against Cuesta.
