Returning all-WSC Pitcher Shelbi Griffith was dominant as she led the Cougars to a pair of Western State Conference wins last week.  She authored a complete game victory over Santa Monica, 16-1, on Tuesday.  Griffith, after allowing a run in the second inning, allowed the Corsairs only two more baserunners as she closed out the victory.  On Saturday, Cuesta traveled to Bakersfield for a mini tournament and handed Griffith the ball for the opener against the 2025 playoff team and their host Bakersfield.  Griffith opened the game with five shutout innings, before managing to stave off the Renegades late rally for another complete game victory, 4-3.  The victory over Bakersfield marks her 8th win of the season and 18th of her career.

 

Cuesta Softball returns to its regular Western State Conference schedule this week, when they host Moorpark on Tuesday (2 PM) and travel to Oxnard on Thursday (2 PM).
