Cuesta Softball has played 14 games over the past three weeks and, including a forfeit, have gone 10-5 over that span.  The Cougars early season scheduled was upended by poor weather, but the constant action has helped them move back into playoff contention and put them one game out of the top spot in the Western State Conference standings.  Cuesta has four games on the docket this week, including a pair of WSC contests.  They open their second round of WSC play at Moorpark on Tuesday (2:30), before hosting Oxnard on Thursday (2:30).  Both the Raiders and the Condors sit one-game behind the Cougars in the WSC standings.  On Saturday (12/2 PM), Cuesta welcomes Coalinga to San Luis Obispo for doubleheader on the Cougars' "Sophomore Day".

Cuesta finished last week with a trip to Salinas for a twinbill against Hartnell.  The host Panthers jumped on the Cougars right off the bus and took the opener, 11-3.  Cuesta regrouped between games and earned the split, by taking the nightcap, 9-7.  Third Baseman Addison Finegan accounted for five of the Cougars 15 hits on the day, including two doubles and a triple, while both driving in and scoring two runs. Freshman Right-hander Sienna Lowry started Game 2 in the Pitching Circle and earned the winning decision, while also connecting for a two-run home run to give herself an early lead.  Cuesta is 16-11 on the season and chasing a second straight playoff berth.
