Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our female selection for February is Shortstop Danya Boyd

Returning All-WSC Softballer Danya Boyd powered the Cougars on offense and anchored their defense as the Cougars outscored their opponents, 65-42 over the month.  Boyd hit at a .423 clip over month and counted four doubles, two home runs and a triple among her team-high 11 hits.  Boyd also scored seven times, while driving in 16 more runs over the month's eight games.  In the pivot, Boyd, handled a team-high 37 chances, while making only two errors, to lead the Cuesta's defense.  Boyd and the Cougars were 4-4 in February, with all four setbacks coming by a single run.

Boyd and the Cougars have a busy schedule in March as they dive deeper into their Western State Conference schedule and make-up several rainouts from February.
