2025 Cuesta College Co-Athlete of the Year Weston Greenelsh became only the third runner in history to win back-to-back 3C2A State Cross Country titles, and he did so in dominant fashion. He took the lead just before the final mile marker and never looked back. His time of 19:51.0 also set a record on the Woodward Park Course. He claimed the title with a comfortable eight-second lead, while also defending his 2024 win and adding a third 3C2A Title to his trophy collection. Last Spring, Greenelsh also won a 3C2A State Title in the 1,500-meters during track and field last year when he won the 5,000-meters at the 3C2A State Track & Field Championships, while also earning Silver in the 1,500m.
The Greenelsh-led Cougars finished 12th overall as a team, with Sophomore John-Paul Walsh posting his first sub-20-minute race of the season and crossing in 27th place for a spot on the all-3C2A Second Team. Freshmen Jeff Mendonca (75th), Anthony Frere (78th) and Oscar Allen (114th) completed the Cougars scoring team.
