Men's Water Polo hosted Long Island University for their final home game of the season. The scored in the final seconds of the opening quarter and never trailed again, while the Cougars came up a goal short, 14-13. The Cougars were led offensively by Sophomore Dustin Drobeck and Freshman Luke Paley, who each posted a "hat trick" in the contest. Drobeck's first of his three tallies also represented his 100th career goal at Cuesta. He joins teammate Johnny Starr, who sat out the game, as one of 40 cuesta players to reach the Century mark over the past 47 seasons. The loss dropped the Cougars overall record to 17-14 on the season.
The Cougars next action shall be the Western State Conference Tournament in Ventura, November 6th-8th. Cuesta, with a 4-0 record within the WSC Circuit, are the top-seed and favored to win the program's sixth straight WSC Crown and 32nd title and earn its 47th playoff berth over the past 47 seasons.
