Cougars Double-Up On Meets This Week
Cuesta Track & Field gets the team back together with a pair of meets scheduled for this week.  The Cougars open begin with the Western State Conference North Division Meet in Ventura on Friday (Noon), which is their final competition against the WSC Circuit until the conference preliminary meet on April 17.  The Cougars will also compete closer to campus at Cal Poly's Mark Conover Meet on Saturday. 
 
Last week, the Cougars split their squad and sent the harriers to the Oxy Distance Carnival.  Sophomore Anthony Frere's (pict-L) 8th place finish in the 800-meters (1:55.14), which also earned him a place in the Cougars' all-time Top 10 for the event.  He also joined 2025 Cuesta Athlete of the Year Weston Greenelsh (pict-R) as they both made the Top 100 in the 5,000-meters.  Greenelsh finished 24th (14:51.77), while Frere was 97th (15:38.25). Frere was also joined by Zachary Rubin, who finished in 39th place in the 1,500 (2:00.44), while Jeff Mendonca (107), Alex Schindler (201) and Aiden Gibson (209th) competed in the 5,000-meters.  Gibson also placed 77th in the metric-mile (4:25.34)
 
On the women's side, All-WSC Harriers Rebekah Waterbury and Isabela Efner finished 14th (42:54.50) and 15th (42:57.00) in their first shot at the event this season.  Waterbury and Efner were both less than 40 seconds off the pace to crack the Cougars all-time event Top
