Cuesta's Star Harrier Weston Greenelsh (pict-L) joined returning State Qualifier William Dawes (Pict-R) as the Cougars' top performers at the 2025 CCCAA State Championships.  Greenelsh, who won the CCCAA State Cross Country title in the Fall, extended himself at the meet.  He dropped the 800-meters, while competing in both the 1,500 and the 5,000-meter runs.  He took second in the metric-mile (4:01.36) and battled through the wind to claim a title in the 5,000m, despite adding almost a minute to his season-best time, 14:32.67 to 15:27.05.  Dawes ranks 2nd all time at Cuesta for the Triple Jump and 3rd in the Long Jump (47' 3.5"), but only made one leap at the State Meet.  Dawes flew 44' 8.25" in his lone attempt of the weekend, before also scratching out of the Long Jump.  His singular attempt was more than two-feet off his season-best, but still earned him 8th place in the meet.  The duo combined for 19 individual points and pushed Cuesta's team score to cusp of the State's Top 10, as they landed in 12th among the 35 scoring teams.
