2025 Cuesta Athlete of the Year Grant Huston is back in the tank this season and tearing up the competition.  Huston absolutely dominated the 40th Mt San Antonio Invitational with an undefeated weekend in the lanes, while also pushing the Cougars into 2nd place in the 21-team event.  Huston, who was also the 2025 CCCAA State Male Athlete of the Year, set eight school records last season and has added two more events this season for ten event titles.  This past weekend he dropped his 200 and 1,650-freestyle marks to 1:36.50 and 15:53.10, respectively, and continued his assault in the breaststroke.  He posted new record times in both the 50 (:25.71) and 100 (:55.17) breaststrokes.  He now owns the school standard in ten events and is among the Top 10 all time in 13 0f the 14 championship events.  

 

Huston and the Cougars will be back in the tank this weekend, while enjoying their own home waters, at the 47th Arena Invitational at Cuesta College.  The meet, once the largest in the nation, is the premier community college meet in the State with the best teams from both the Northern and Southern Regionals competing for the title.  The meet shall run all day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
