Cuesta Men's Swim & Dive posted its fourth straight Top 10 finish at the CCCAA State Championships since the pandemic and its 20th since 1990. The Cougars were led by co-State Swimmer of the Year Grant Huston (pict) and fellow individual All Americans Beau Gendron and Joseph Tugwell. Huston won all three of his individual events taking the 100 (:44.26), 200 (1:37.69) and 500 (4:24.98) freestyle events, while also setting three new Cuesta records. Gendron finished 8th in the 100-breaststroke (:57.49) and also joined Huston with returning All American Conner Rocha on the 200-Freestyle and both (200 and 400) medley relays, as they all added three more All American certificates to their collections. The trio was joined by Freshman Dustin Drobeck on the 200-yard Free and Medley relays, while fellow Rookie Ryan Barcelos stepped in for the 400-medley. On the planks, Tugwell earned All American off the 1-meter board, after amassing 179.0 points in the six-dive competition, but missed All American by one spot off the high-dive.
