Sophomore Forward Ryan McNamee led the Cougars as they began their Western State Conference schedule in January. He has blossomed during his sophomore campaign and has become the Cougars' most consistent offensive threat. During the team's first swing through the WSC, McNamee led the Cougars on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Against the loop, he boasts team-highs in points (14.0), rebounds (8.0) and Blocks (1.3) per game. McNamee also poured in a career-high 22 points against playoff bound Moorpark on January 14. The next night, McNamee dominated in a different way, while leading the Cougars past Oxnard. He still scored 16 points but also grabbed a career-high ten rebounds and blocked three shots. McNamee has averaged 13.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the month.
The Cougars begin their second swing through the Western State Conference Schedule this Wednesday, when they visit local rival Allan Hancock in Santa Maria for a men's and women's doubleheader.
