Freshman Guard Evan Lin stepped into the starting line-up for the first time when the Cougars hosted local rival Allan Hancock in their 2026 Western State Conference Opener. Lin's sharpshooting ignited the Cougars with a team-high eight points before the intermission, as the Cougars and Bulldogs enter halftime seperated by one basket. In the second half, Lin kept the Cougars game with seven more points down the stretch, while on his way to a career-high 15 points.
The Cougars continue their first swing through the Western State Conference this Wednesday at Moorpark (5 PM). They retrun home to host Oxnard for another WSC Twinbill on Saturday (1 PM)
