Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our male selection for January is Center Alessandro Perotti

Sophomore Center Alessandro Perotti is the focus of the Cougars' offense and a force on the hardwood.  In in seven games over the month of January, including six Western State Conference contests, Perotti has averaged 21.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.  He has been a monster on the boards this month and posted a season-high 24 boards against Glendale, which was just one carom off the Cuesta of 25 shared by Kristof Ongenaet (2006) and Roberto Montovani (2016).  Beyond his dominant scoring and rebounding, Perotti is unselfish with the ball and distributes the ball out of the pivot.  He is currently second on the team with 2.9 assists per game. 

The Cougars are 15-7 overall and starting their second round of Western State Conference play.  They went 4-2 n their first swing through the loop.
