Cuesta Baseball will join local rival Allan Hancock to host the three-day Cuesta/Hancock Spring Break Tournament this week. The Cougars shall host three games on their home field, starting on Wednesday (2 PM) with East Los Angeles. On Thursday (1 PM) the 30th-ranked Cougars will have their toughest challenge against #7 Cypress. The Chargers, who are fresh off a run to the 2025 CCCAA State Semi-Final, have split their last four games in SLO, including a win over the Cougars in 2025. Cuesta shall close out the tournament against unranked Merced on Friday (1 PM)
The Cuesta Nine averaged almost eight runs per game over their first twenty-plus games of the season but managed only six runs in last week's three-game series against local rival Allan Hancock. The Cougars took the first game in Santa Maria last Tuesday, before falling on Thursday in SLO and, again, back in Santa Maria on Saturday, 13-1. The Cougars, who are the defending WSC Champions, are currently a half-game behind both the rival Bulldogs and Santa Barbara City in the loop's standings.
