Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our male selection for February is Sophomore Centerfielder Aidan Botti

Sophomore Centerfielder Aidan Botti has blossomed this season, both on the field and in the batter's box.  Initially slated as an infielder, the New Englander has transitioned to outfield and become Cuesta's everyday Centerfielder. He has also re-established himself as a hitter and has claimed the Cougars' leadoff spot.  He is currently batting at a team-best .386 clip, which is more than 200 points higher than his freshman average. Botti has enjoyed several multi-hit games this season but enjoyed a career-high four-hit game against Oxnard on February 22, when he went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and three driven in as the Cougars beat the Condors, 17-7.

Botti and the Cougars shall continue their Western State Conference schedule this month, apart from the three-day Cuesta/Hancock Spring Break Tournament (Mar.19-21).
