Cuesta Women's Beach Volleyball travels to the mainland's home of beach volleyball this Friday for a Western State Conference doubleheader. The Cougars open against Glendale (11 AM), before playing host Santa Monica (1 PM) for the second straight week. The Cougars own a sweep, 5-0, against Glendale from their first meeting on March 6, while the host Corsairs beat the Cougars, 4-1, last week in Ventura.
Last week in Ventura, Cuesta suffered a pair of losses to host Ventura, 5-0, and Santa Monica, 4-1. The twin setbacks dropped the Cougars overall record to 4-14 overall, while they slipped to 1-7 in WSC play. The Cougars, including this week, have four more regular season dual matches scheduled. The Cougars lone win of the day came in a three-set match at the #2 position, where Sophomores Cayley Brown and Hanne Porter. The duo dropped the first set (16-21) but rallied to claim back-to-back two-point wins (21-19, 16-14) to take the match. Porter is currently tied with Freshman Ella Mcdermott with a team-high seven wins on the season, while Brown is one win away from tying Amelie LoJocano's career win record (16).
