Beach Volleyball Splits at Home- Big Changes for WSC Play
Cuesta Beach Volleyball hosted Lassen and the Cal Poly Club for their final tune-up, before opening Western State Conference play next week.  The Cougars had their way with their fellow Cougars from Lassen and enjoyed a sweep, with only one match reaching a third set.  Cuesta, as the host, took a break as Cal Poly's Club also swept Lassen, although Lassen did force them into a tiebreaker in two matches.  Cuesta shuffled their line-up for the nightcap, while leaving only their #1 and #2 pairs the same.  Poly, after making quick work of Lassen, was still fresh.  Cuesta earned a win and dropped a couple of close losses to open against the Mustangs, but the Cal Poly dominated across the board, and closed the victory, 5-0.  The split dropped the Cougars to 3-7 as a team on the season with an overall match record of 21-29.

The Sand Spikers open Western State Conference (WSC) play next week and will have to make some adjustments on the way.  The program's coach, Whitney Meyer, will be out for the rest of the season, so the Cougars will be led by Interim Coach Jaylin Lombard.  Cuesta heads to Bakersfield next Friday for their first WSC competition.  The Cougars open against Glendale (Noon) and close against the host Renegades (1:30).  Luckily, the Cougars will be back home the next week, as they dive deeper into their conference schedule.   Cuesta is set to host 2025 CCCAA State Tournament Semi-Finalist Santa Barbara City and Moorpark, the conference's 2025 WSC Indoor Champion.
