Cuesta's Returning all-WSC Sand Spiker Bailey Woodside (pict) repeated on the Western State Conference Second Team and was joined by her partner Cayley Brown. Woodside began the season paired with Rookie Emma Watkins, but due to injury, she finished the season with Brown, a fellow all-WSC Outside Hitter during indoor play last Fall.
Woodside and Brown did not pair-up until the Cougars hosted a tripleheader at Cal Poly on March 28, where they were the #2 team against both Glendale and Santa Monica. The duo split that day but moved up to #1 the next week. They pair clicked and won four of their last six matches. Woodside finished the season with an 11-12 record, including 9-9 at the #1 spot, while Brown was 4-2 with Woodside and 9-12 overall. Woodside concludes her Cuesta career as a four-time all-WSC performer. Indoors she is a two-time all-WSC First Team Outside Hitter, while twice gaining all-WSC Second Team accolades on the sand. Brown, who was named all-WSC Second Team last Fall, joined Woodside in the sand as a member of the all-WSC Second Team.
Cuesta Beach Volleyball completed its second season 6-16 overall record and in 6th place in the Western State Conference, which included a 2-10 record against the loop. This year, the Cougars combined to post a 42-75 match record as a team. Woodside's 11 victories this season are the new program standard, while fellow returner Amelie Lo Jocano added nine wins this season to boost her career-mark to a program-leading 16 wins in the sand.
